Older Sister Runs a Social Enterprise, Younger Sister Promotes an Animal Experience Farm
Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) announced on the 11th that sisters Lee Hyunseo (43) and Lee Mijeong (36), both first-year students in the Department of Entrepreneurship (Head of Department Noh Seongyeo), are pursuing their dreams of successful entrepreneurship by achieving results in different fields.
The older sister, Lee Hyunseo, was appointed as the CEO of the social enterprise "Mamsi Saenghwal Geongang" in May 2024, while her younger sister, Lee Mijeong, was selected in May 2024 for the "Greendaero"-hosted 2024 Rural Return and Housing Purchase Support Project and is planning to operate an animal experience farm.
Greendaero is an integrated platform for rural return and settlement operated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Lee Hyunseo, who has been active as a volunteer for the leading Busan lifestyle goods company Mamsi Saenghwal Geongang and as an external lecturer, stated, "In the Department of Entrepreneurship, which is full of entrepreneurial spirit, I want to realize the potential value of the local community and grow Mamsi Saenghwal Geongang into a symbol of health, happiness, and prosperity."
Lee Mijeong said, "With my selection for the Rural Return and Housing Purchase Support Project, I am planning to purchase a livestock barn in Singwang-myeon, Pohang, Gyeongbuk, and operate an animal experience farm."
The entrepreneurship-enthusiast sisters also said, "Based on the education and infrastructure of the Tongmyong University Department of Entrepreneurship, we will contribute to enhancing future social values in the region."
Noh Seongyeo, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, encouraged, "Seeing the infinite potential and passion of the students in the Department of Entrepreneurship, I look forward to their bright future."
The Tongmyong University Department of Entrepreneurship was newly established in 2024 and is conducting various hands-on entrepreneurial curricular and extracurricular projects and activities to foster experts in the field of entrepreneurship.
