Accelerating Efforts to Strengthen AI-Centered Public Interest Projects
The Brian Impact Foundation announced on the 11th that it has appointed AI experts Professor Kim Juho of KAIST School of Computing and Professor Kim Eunsol of Hanyang University Department of Computer Software as new registered directors.

In line with the foundation's direction to solve social problems through AI and science and technology, Brian Impact decided to recruit Professors Kim Juho and Kim Eunsol, who are actively conducting research in the AI field. Both professors have experience focusing on human-AI interaction in their research. It is expected that they will enhance expertise and strengthen execution capabilities in various AI-centered projects promoted by the foundation.
Professor Kim Juho graduated with highest honors from Seoul National University Department of Computer Engineering and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in computer engineering from Stanford University and MIT, respectively. He is currently an associate professor at KAIST School of Computing and an adjunct professor at the Kim Jaecheol AI Graduate School. The KAIST Interaction Lab (KIXLAB), led by Professor Kim, researches various AI technologies and interaction methods focusing on human-computer interaction and human-AI interaction. Professor Kim has received numerous awards in the AI field, including the Best Paper Award and Outstanding Paper Award at the ACM CHI 2022, the American Computer Association's human-computer interaction conference. He also served as a project leader for joint research and development of an AI diagnostic system at the edutech startup Ringle.
Professor Kim Eunsol graduated from Seoul National University Department of Computer Engineering and earned her doctoral degree from the same university. Since 2018, she worked as an AI technology development researcher at Kakao Brain. While at Kakao Brain, Professor Kim focused on developing technology that translates human behavior and cognition research into AI algorithms through image and video understanding. In 2021, she was appointed assistant professor at Hanyang University Department of Computer Software and AI Graduate School, primarily researching machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
With the appointment of the two new directors, the Brian Impact board now consists of five members: Chairman Park Seunggi, along with Jeong Hyeshin, Kim Kyunghun, Kim Juho, and Kim Eunsol.
Park Seunggi, Chairman of Brian Impact, stated, "The appointment of Professors Kim Juho and Kim Eunsol as new directors will be a great force in realizing Brian Impact’s vision and goals of solving social problems based on AI and science and technology. By adding the deep research experience of these two AI experts, we will further strengthen our foundation’s expertise and execution capabilities, and continue to strive to create positive changes in our society."
