Gijang County in Busan to Explore Life and Philosophy of Cheongam... Park Taejoon Memorial Hall Website Opens

VR Memorial Hall and Collection Database at a Glance

Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) has launched the official website of the Park Taejoon Memorial Hall, which will be fully operational starting from the 10th.

The website is designed so that visitors can easily find comprehensive information related to the memorial hall, including guidance about the hall, exhibitions, educational programs, the purpose of its establishment, architectural stories, and nearby tourist courses.

The website features sections such as ▲Cheongam Park Taejoon (history and related materials) ▲Memorial Hall Architecture (overview and architectural resources) ▲Park Taejoon Memorial Hall (VR memorial hall and facility introduction) ▲Exhibitions ▲Collections (collections database and donation procedures) ▲Education & Events ▲Announcements.

Among these, the ‘Cheongam Park Taejoon’ page presents a chronology and biography of Cheongam from his childhood, along with famous quotes, interviews, videos, and book materials. The ‘Memorial Hall Architecture’ page contains stories about the space of the memorial hall, which won the Minister’s Award at the 2021 Korea Space Culture Awards, as well as related architectural resources such as sketches by architect Cho Byungsoo.

In particular, the ‘Introduction to the Memorial Hall’ page offers a virtual tour utilizing VR, providing a variety of attractions for visitors interested in the memorial hall.

Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, “With the launch of this website, not only information about the memorial hall but also the life and philosophy of Cheongam can now be accessed online. As the Park Taejoon Memorial Hall receives much love from local residents and tourists, we will spare no effort to ensure it becomes a favorite destination that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere.”

The Park Taejoon Memorial Hall was established by Gijang-gun next to the birthplace of Park Taejoon, Honorary Chairman of POSCO, who made significant contributions to Korea’s economic development, and opened in December 2021.

Serving as an educational space to learn the spirit and philosophy of Honorary Chairman Park Taejoon, as well as a park-style memorial hall offering relaxation to visitors, it hosts various exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and performances, establishing itself as a local landmark.

Currently, the special exhibition ‘Calligraphy: Drawing the Heart with the Brush’ is on display, and in July, contemporary artists’ sculptures and media artworks will be exhibited in Sujeongwon and the corridor.
