The '2024 International Electric Power Industry Expo Korea' will be held at EXCO from the 12th to the 14th, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of the electric power industry and lead the revitalization of both domestic and export markets. Now in its fourth year, this expo is the largest specialized exhibition for clean electric facilities safety and digital power conversion outside the Seoul metropolitan area, hosted by Gyeongbuk Province and the Korea Electrical Contractors Association, and co-organized by EXCO and Electric Times.
This year, 130 companies from the electric power industry?including power generation, transmission and distribution, substation equipment, electric plants, new energy businesses, and the nuclear power industry?will participate. The expo will feature a record 400 booths, more than a 10% increase from last year's 360 booths. The event is organized into themed zones such as the Electric Special Vehicle Zone, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) & Power Generation Companies and Partner Companies EV Zone, Gyeongbuk Renaissance Nuclear Power Special Zone, and Safety Special Zone, showcasing the latest technologies and products by theme.
Notably, this year’s highlights include the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Renaissance Nuclear Power Special Zone' and the 'Safety Special Zone.' The Gyeongsangbuk-do Renaissance Nuclear Power Special Zone has tripled its booth size compared to last year to promote the status and importance of Korea's nuclear power industry leading the energy sector, with 28 participating companies?about five times more than last year’s six. Major participants include Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Korea Radioactive Waste Agency, KEPCO KPS, and Doosan Enerbility, who will share future nuclear technology and ecosystem development directions.
The Safety Special Zone, centered around the KEPCO Safety Division, has been organized on the largest scale yet in response to the strengthening of safety-related laws, such as the Serious Accidents Punishment Act now being extended to workplaces with fewer than 50 employees. Twenty companies, including Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, Changchanghan Co., Ltd., Korea Electrical Contractors Association Safety Technology Institute, and Cheongpa EMT Co., Ltd., will present technologies to ensure the safe growth of the electric power industry.
The Electric Power Industry Expo will also host export and purchasing consultations this year, providing opportunities for small and medium-sized electric power companies to develop new markets and engage in business exchanges. On the 12th, a hybrid online-offline export consultation will invite high-purchasing-power overseas buyers from Japan, the UAE, Malaysia, and more, supporting diversification of export markets. On the 13th, a 1:1 purchasing consultation will be held in the exhibition hall between purchasing managers from 30 ordering organizations?including power generation companies, large and small enterprises, and public institutions?and participating companies to help them expand into the domestic market.
In addition, side events such as a special seminar on Electric Facilities Inspection and Testing Standards (KESC), a 2024 KEC Application Electrical Accident Prevention Technology Seminar, and consortium employee competency enhancement training will be held to facilitate information exchange and professional development in response to clean energy and digital transformation.
The 2024 International Electric Power Industry Expo Korea will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and until 4 p.m. on the last day, the 14th.
