Bucheon City Supports Housing Costs for Single Homeless Youth Households... Applications Open from the 10th

Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will accept applications for housing cost support from young residents in the area from the 10th to the 21st of this month.

This project is a new initiative launched by Bucheon City this year to stabilize the housing and living conditions of young households facing economic difficulties due to rising prices and employment challenges.

The support targets single-person young households aged 19 to 39 who have established independent residency in Bucheon, are without a home, have a household income at or below 120% of the median income, live in housing with a rental deposit of 50 million KRW or less, and monthly rent of 700,000 KRW or less.

However, basic livelihood security recipients (for living, medical, or housing benefits), those receiving special youth monthly rent support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and beneficiaries of youth purchase rental housing are classified as participants in overlapping government public housing support programs and are therefore ineligible for this support.

Applications can be submitted in person at the welfare team of the local administrative welfare center in the applicant’s district. Required documents include the application form, resident registration certificate, family relation certificate, lease contract, proof of monthly rent transfer for the past three months, and a copy of a bankbook in the applicant’s name. Detailed information can be found on the Bucheon City Hall website.

A Bucheon City official stated, "The number of single-person young households is rapidly increasing, and with rising prices and monthly rents, housing instability among young people is becoming a social crisis. We hope this project will provide practical help for the housing stability of young people."
