Hanmi Semiconductor Vice Chairman Kwak Dong-shin announced on the 7th that the company has secured an order worth 150 billion KRW from SK Hynix for the third-generation AI semiconductor high-bandwidth memory (HBM) hyper model, the ‘Dual TC Bonder Griffin (DUAL TC BONDER GRIFFIN)’.
Hanmi Semiconductor recorded cumulative orders totaling 358.7 billion KRW from SK Hynix for Dual TC Bonders for HBM, including 101.2 billion KRW in the second half of last year and 107.6 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year.
Hanmi Semiconductor has once again proven itself as the most important TC Bonder equipment supplier for SK Hynix’s HBM production line. Hanmi Semiconductor’s sales are expected to reach 1 trillion KRW by 2025.
Vice Chairman Kwak Dong-shin stated, "As mentioned by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at the Tech Expo ‘Computex 2024’ held this week in Taipei, Taiwan, the number of HBMs mounted on the next-generation GPUs Rubin and Rubin Ultra chips will increase." He added, "To prepare for the rising demand for HBM and ensure smooth supply of TC Bonders, we are securing a sixth factory in the first half of this year and are fully committed to enhancing customer satisfaction."
Since establishing the Intellectual Property Department in 2002, Hanmi Semiconductor has focused on protecting and strengthening intellectual property rights with a team of about ten specialists. To date, the company has filed over 120 patents, including a total of 111 patents related to HBM equipment. Its outstanding technology and durability are expected to further enhance the competitiveness of its equipment.
Last month, Hanmi Semiconductor was selected as one of the world’s top 10 equipment companies by TechInsights, a global semiconductor research firm, making it the only domestic company to receive this recognition. It is regarded as a leading Korean semiconductor equipment company that has overcome the ‘Korea discount.’ Over the past three years, the company has actively responded to enhancing shareholder value through a 150 billion KRW treasury stock trust contract.
