Kan Education CEO Yoohoyeon Appointed Publisher of Social Value

Social Value, a "social value-sharing media," announced on the 5th through its board of directors that Yoo Ho-yeon, CEO of Khan Education Group, has been appointed as the new publisher.

Yoo Ho-yeon, who officially took office on this day, graduated from Princeton University in the United States and oversees the Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Vietnam operations of Khan Education Group.

In particular, Publisher Yoo Ho-yeon serves as an executive in various nonprofit organizations such as the Win-Win Growth Institute, the Grand Bell Awards Organizing Committee, the Asia Brand Institute, and the Princeton University Alumni Association, leading diverse public interest projects. He is expected to play a significant role in building a global network for Social Value’s "second leap."

In his inaugural speech, Publisher Yoo said, “The ‘social value’ that Social Value pursues is the power to create a world where we live well together. There can be no happy individuals in a community that has forgotten social value. I will contribute to inheriting and spreading the social values that have shaped today’s Republic of Korea amid the shadows of rapid economic development and democratization.”

He added, “I will be a publisher who never forgets that proper education is the foundation of correct social values. It is regrettable to see that, in the process of Korean society transforming from one that valued society over the individual to one where the individual is also important, the communities to which individuals belong are being neglected. I will devote myself to making Social Value an organization that contributes to building a healthy society where not only ‘I am important’ but also ‘I am respected.’”

Meanwhile, Social Value is currently undertaking various activities to diversify its projects, such as the ‘ESG Webtoon Contest’ and the ‘Future Education Forum,’ through recent organizational restructuring.
