High School Student Filmed Female Body Again During Prosecutor's Investigation... "Deeply Reflecting"

"No Risk of Flight or Evidence Tampering" Bail Denied
Reoffended During Prosecutor's Investigation... 5-Year Sentence Requested

The prosecution has requested a prison sentence of 5 years minimum and 2 years maximum for a high school student who illegally filmed multiple unspecified women in places such as restrooms. This student committed the same crime again while under investigation by the prosecution for the initial offense.

According to the legal community on the 5th, the prosecution requested a prison sentence of 5 years minimum and 2 years maximum at the sentencing trial for A, held under the jurisdiction of the Daejeon District Court Criminal Division 6, on charges including violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. If it is judged that the correction of the juvenile offender has been achieved during the minimum sentence, the execution of the maximum sentence can be suspended under the direction of the prosecutor.

At the end of last year, A was caught after entering the women's restrooms in a company building and installing illegal cameras.

During the first incident, the prosecution requested an arrest warrant for A, but the court dismissed it, stating there was no risk of flight or evidence destruction. However, in March of this year, while under investigation by the prosecution, A entered a women's restroom in a commercial building in Daejeon and secretly filmed women's bodies again, leading to a trial.

A was arrested on the spot as a suspect during the second incident and was tried while in custody on this day.

The defense attorney appealed for leniency, stating, "The defendant is currently a high school student and did not fully understand the seriousness when the initial warrant was dismissed, but now that he is detained, he realizes how frightening this is," and added, "He is deeply remorseful now." They also asked the court to consider "the feelings of the parents who have a minor son in the third year of high school."

A also expressed remorse, saying, "I sincerely apologize to the victims and will never even dream of doing this again."
