Dong-Eui University and Game Culture Foundation Collaborate on Game Literacy Education

"A Game Story More Interesting Than the Game Itself"

Lecture by NCSoft Executive Director Jang Hyunyoung

Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) and the Game Culture Foundation held a 'Game Literacy Education' session on the 4th at the Prime Seminar Room of the Creative Hall at Dong-Eui University, inviting Jang Hyunyoung, Executive Director at NCSoft.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Creative Content Agency, and the Game Culture Foundation are conducting the '2024 Parent Game Literacy Education' under the theme 'Stories About Games More Interesting Than Games Themselves' to promote proper awareness of games and the value of games by providing accurate information about game culture and the industry.

The session was hosted by Professor Kim Chiyong (Director of External Cooperation) from the Department of Game Engineering at Dong-Eui University, with about 100 participants including current students, university students interested in the game industry, and citizens. The topic was 'Games as a Profession, and Game Professionals.'

Executive Director Jang Hyunyoung introduced the current status and future of the game industry, as well as various job positions related to games. She also shared tips on writing self-introduction letters for students preparing to enter the game field.

Jang Hyunyoung emphasized, "The first point of contact between a company and yourself is the self-introduction letter. It is important to develop the habit of consistently writing self-introduction letters for your target companies starting from your freshman year. Do not write your self-introduction letter in a generic format; practice creating your own unique letter that sets you apart from others."

Professor Kim Chiyong from the Department of Game Engineering at Dong-Eui University said, "It was a useful special lecture where participants could easily access practical information such as the game production process at game companies, character creation using 3D scanners, sound recording, data preparation and information provision using AI, as well as welfare facilities and recruitment processes."
