During the inauguration ceremony, appointment letters were presented to patrol team members, followed by training from a disaster prevention expert on the roles and safety responsibilities of the patrol team.

Going forward, the Village Patrol Team will play a supporting role by monitoring local risk factors in advance and assisting public officials in ensuring the safe and prompt evacuation of residents when signs of danger are detected. They will also respond proactively to unpredictable disasters and during vulnerable time periods.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "In the face of the inevitable backlash of natural disasters, we will concentrate all administrative efforts together with residents to achieve zero casualties, even if property damage is unavoidable," adding, "For this, active cooperation is needed so that residents can evacuate quickly in accordance with administrative agency controls when weather advisories are issued."

On the 27th of last month, Yeongdeok County conducted a resident evacuation drill in Opo 2-ri, Ganggu-myeon, with the participation of about 40 people including village chiefs, residents, the Volunteer Disaster Prevention Corps, and the police, simulating scenarios such as typhoon landfall and river flooding.

The drill included training on evacuation plans, procedures, and routes to help residents develop the ability to evacuate quickly in real-life situations.
