Dongshin University Dyslexia Student Support Center Signs Business Agreement with Regional Hub Centers

The Jeollanam-do Dyslexic Student Support Center, operated under consignment by Dongshin University, recently held a business agreement ceremony for supporting dyslexic students with 17 regional base centers at Donggang Hall in the Central Library.

The Jeollanam-do Dyslexic Student Support Center designated 17 private speech therapy institutions at the city and county level in Jeonnam as regional base centers to provide personalized diagnosis and treatment for students below middle school who have difficulty learning due to reading difficulties. They also appointed and awarded certificates to "personnel visiting schools."

According to the agreement, dyslexic students enrolled in each school can receive professional in-depth diagnosis and treatment at the regional base centers upon referral by their teachers.

The "personnel visiting schools" refers to speech therapists dispatched to the schools where dyslexic students are enrolled, especially for those students who are in blind spots of diagnosis and treatment due to the absence of private speech therapy institutions.

The regional base centers and the "personnel visiting schools" receive standardized diagnostic and treatment protocols from the Jeollanam-do Dyslexic Student Support Center and exchange information on personalized treatment programs for dyslexic students, thereby collaborating to advance research for dyslexic students.

Meanwhile, the Dongshin University Jeollanam-do Dyslexic Student Support Center signed a business agreement with the Jeollanam-do Office of Education last January to support dyslexic students. They are conducting various projects within the Jeollanam-do region, including developing screening tools for students with reading difficulties, organizing visiting treatment support personnel, and providing training for current staff.
