Introducing Partner Products in Content... Participation from Coupang and More
YouTube announced on the 5th that it will expand its shopping features through the 'YouTube Shopping Partnership Program.'
Since the 4th, YouTube has added the 'YouTube Shopping Partnership Program' in Korea. This program allows creators to introduce partner products and generate revenue. Creators can freely select various products provided by partners, tag them in their content, and receive commissions when viewers click the tags and purchase the products.
The Shopping Partnership Program was launched in the United States in June last year and is being introduced in Korea for the first time. Coupang has initially joined as a partner in Korea. Creators who meet the eligibility requirements can, after a simple registration process, tag and introduce a wide range of products sold on Coupang, including major brands, small and medium-sized enterprises, and small business brands. YouTube plans to continuously expand the number of products creators can tag by encouraging participation from various individual brands in the shopping partnership program and support the introduction of more Korean brands.
Hyunjin Lee, Head of Content Partnerships at YouTube Korea, said, "We will support creators in communicating with their fans, introducing various products, and generating revenue, while continuously improving the shopping experience within YouTube so that viewers can enjoy shopping more conveniently."
