Tap Water Quality Meets Standards

Production Process Transparently Disclosed

Miryang City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 4th that it published the "2024 Miryang City Tap Water Quality Report" at the end of last month, which contains comprehensive information about the production process and quality of tap water, and distributed it to relevant departments and town offices.

The Tap Water Quality Report includes various information about tap water, such as the basic status of Miryang's water supply, the 2023 raw and purified water quality test results, the process of tap water production and supply, facts and misconceptions about tap water, and the operation of the "Our Home Tap Water Safety Confirmation System," which citizens can apply for to resolve questions about the quality of tap water in their homes.

According to this report, Miryang City's tap water, including purified water produced at the Gyodong Water Purification Plant, legally required faucet water, and water quality test results at each supply stage, met all drinking water quality standards in every category.

To maintain good water quality, Miryang City has been continuously operating diverse water quality monitoring, including monthly water quality tests not only for the Miryanggang River, which is the water source, but also for upstream areas of the water source.

Park Jongsu, head of the Waterworks and Sewerage Division, said, "We will do our best to ensure the production and stable supply of clean tap water that Miryang citizens can safely drink anytime, anywhere."

Meanwhile, the Tap Water Quality Report is available at the City Hall Civil Service Office, the Waterworks and Sewerage Division, and the administrative welfare centers in each town and township, and can also be accessed on the city's official website.
