Apply for Gwangju City's 'Youth Work Experience Dream Plus' Dream Center

Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kang Ki-jung) announced on the 4th that it is recruiting ‘Dreamter (workplaces)’ to provide young people with on-the-job experience through the second half of 2024 ‘Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream Plus’ project.

The ‘Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream Plus’ project is being promoted to encourage local youth to settle in the region by strengthening job competencies and participating in the local community while experiencing jobs suited to their aptitude in various industrial fields.

The ‘Dreamter’ candidates are workplaces located in Gwangju City and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Joint Innovation City with regular employees, and are companies that can provide quality work experience reflecting the characteristics of each business, rather than simple auxiliary tasks, to young people.

The 16th selected ‘Dreamter’ will provide work experience to participating youth from August to December for five months, receiving 90% of the youth labor costs supported by Gwangju City.

Through this, it helps strengthen the capabilities of unemployed youth in the region and provides an opportunity to recruit talent with field adaptability.

Businesses wishing to participate can apply on the Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream website by 5 p.m. on the 14th. The final workplaces will be selected and announced at the end of June (scheduled for June 26) after on-site inspections and evaluations.

Details related to the recruitment of ‘Dreamter’ can be found on the Gwangju Metropolitan City website’s public notice and the Gwangju Youth Policy Platform. For other inquiries, contact the executing agency, Chonnam National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation (Work Experience Dream Plus Project Group).

Oh In-chang, Youth Policy Officer, said, “We hope that promising local companies that can grow together with local youth and provide quality work experience will actively participate,” and added, “We will continue to promote youth employment policies so that unemployed youth in the region can have opportunities to connect to employment after work experience.”

Meanwhile, this project, conducted every year in the first and second halves since 2017, has involved a total of over 4,500 workplaces and more than 6,600 young people so far.

The 15th session held in the first half of this year involved 295 ‘Dreamter’ including public institutions, local small and medium enterprises, youth start-ups, social welfare institutions, and social economy enterprises, with about 400 young people gaining work experience.
