Distribution of Promotional Magnetic Signs for Vehicle-based Mobility Services
Not a 'Housekeeper' but a Caregiving Specialist
The Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service (headed by Choi Deokgeun) has launched various promotional campaigns to improve the image of care workers active at the forefront of long-term care.
Care workers are trained professionals who have obtained a national certification and perform tasks such as assisting elderly individuals with daily activities and cognitive support. However, social perception remains low, with many still viewing them as simple housekeepers.
In preparation for the upcoming super-aged society, the organization plans to enhance service quality by implementing continuing education every two years starting this year. This aims to establish professional ethics among care workers, improve their job performance, and provide specialized care services that meet the complex needs of beneficiaries.
To improve the image of care workers, the Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters produced promotional magnetic signs and attached them to 50 local day and night care service vehicles. Additionally, promotional banners have been placed at 36 local branches, and direct promotions are being conducted at various events such as welfare expos and promotional booths.
Choi Deokgeun, head of the regional headquarters, stated, "I am confident that by fostering a culture of mutual trust and respect between care workers, beneficiaries, and their families, the long-term care system can continue to advance," and added, "We will do our utmost to improve the treatment and image of care workers."
