Incheon City Special Judicial Police announced on the 4th that they have cracked down on illegal activities in the Namdong-gu Greenbelt area, uncovering a total of 12 cases.
By type, the most common violation was illegally changing the use of agricultural vinyl greenhouses, with 6 cases, followed by 5 cases of illegal construction using containers or prefabricated panels, and 1 case of illegal land alteration for use as a parking lot.
The Special Judicial Police plan to take corrective orders through the relevant district office for the violators detected, and separately, if the illegal acts were committed for profit or repeatedly, they will file criminal charges, investigate, and then send the cases to the prosecution.

According to the Special Act on the Designation and Management of Development-Restricted Areas, building structures illegally or changing their use within the development-restricted area can result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won.
The total development-restricted area in Incheon amounts to 67.275㎢. Among these, Namdong-gu is the largest, covering 23.758㎢, which accounts for 35.3% of the total area, followed by Gyeyang-gu (21.184㎢) and Seo-gu (14.526㎢).
This crackdown was conducted jointly with Namdong-gu over four weeks starting April 29, in the areas of Guwol-dong, Namchon-dong, Susan-dong, and Dorim-dong. The city plans to conduct joint crackdowns in Gyeyang-gu and Seo-gu in the second half of the year.
