Gyeonggi-do Conducts Safety Inspections at 303 Fishing Sites Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province is set to conduct a safety management inspection of fishing sites within the province.


On the 4th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out safety management and operational inspections at 303 fishing sites across the province by August 26.


This inspection will be conducted jointly with related organizations such as the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, city and county governments, and the Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority.


The key inspection items include ▲compliance with facility standards for water structures at fishing sites and the presence of life buoys ▲availability of safety equipment such as lifelines and fire extinguishers ▲management status of convenience facilities such as restrooms and washrooms ▲approval status for the transplantation of released fish species.


Gyeonggi Province plans to take measures such as on-site guidance and education, imposition of fines, suspension of business, or cancellation of permits depending on the severity of any deficiencies found.


Kim Bong-hyun, Director of the Marine Fisheries Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This inspection aims to proactively eliminate hazards at fishing sites as the number of fishing enthusiasts has recently increased," adding, "We will do our best to establish a safe fishing culture."
