Jung-gu, Seoul is recruiting 30 members for the Youth Policy Network (Junggu Cheongnet) until the 12th. This is to encourage the participation of young people themselves in the policy-making process for youth and to promote more effective projects.
Youth aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Jung-gu or belong to workplaces, schools, or organizations located in Jung-gu can apply. The district prioritizes selecting young people who have a strong interest in youth issues and rich experience in related activities. Application methods and forms can be found on the announcement board of the Jung-gu Office website.
The first Junggu Cheongnet will form △ Employment and Start-up Division △ Culture and Arts Division △ Health and Society Division from June to the end of the year, and start various activities to solve problems faced by youth and promote youth interaction. In November, a performance sharing meeting will be held to present the achievements so far.
The time spent participating in Junggu Cheongnet activities will be recognized as volunteer hours. Youth who actively participate in proposing and discovering youth policies will also be awarded communication points on Jung-gu’s communication platform, Onttong Junggu. Outstanding participants will be awarded the district mayor’s commendation.
As of the end of March this year, the youth population (aged 19 to 39) residing in Jung-gu is 39,421, accounting for 32.4% of the total population of 121,602 in Jung-gu.
A district official said, “Although young people make up one-third of Jung-gu’s population, they are actively engaged in social activities, making it difficult to meet and communicate frequently,” and added, “We expect that through the formation of Junggu Cheongnet, the voices of the youth will be more reflected in policies.”
