US: North Korea's 'Omul Balloon' Disgusting Tactic... Must Stop

Amid rising tensions between the South and North due to North Korea's release of filth balloons, the U.S. State Department criticized the act on the 3rd (local time), calling it a "disgusting tactic."

On the same day, Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the State Department, said at a regular briefing, "It is a disgusting tactic," adding, "It is irresponsible and childish, and North Korea should stop it." He also stated, "We condemn such actions."

When asked whether China might be involved in the release of filth balloons, he responded, "We have not heard any assessments linking China to this."

North Korea has been releasing filth balloons toward the South since the failure of its military reconnaissance satellite launch on the 27th of last month.

John Kirby, National Security Communications Coordinator at the White House National Security Council (NSC), said at a briefing that he is "watching with great concern the rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula" regarding North Korea's filth balloon releases and GPS jamming attacks.
