‘PGA star attraction’ Kim Joo-hyung has risen to 22nd in the world rankings.

In the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 2nd (local time), he earned 2.98 points, jumping four spots from 26th last week. He accumulated points by finishing tied for 4th at the PGA Tour RBC Canadian Open (total prize money $9.4 million) held at Hamilton Golf & Country Club (par 70, 7,084 yards) in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

This marks his first ‘Top 10’ entry since achieving back-to-back wins at the Shriner's Children's Open last October. Before this tournament, he had participated in 15 events without ever finishing in the top 10. He holds the highest ranking among Korean players and has risen to number one in qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele (both USA), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Wyndham Clark (USA), and Viktor Hovland (Norway) maintained their positions in the ‘Top 5’ as usual. Robert MacIntyre (Scotland), the winner of the RBC Canadian Open, jumped from 76th to 39th in the rankings.

In Korea, An Byeong-hun dropped two places to 26th. He did not participate in the RBC Canadian Open. Im Sung-jae remained at 32nd, and Kim Si-woo fell two places to 46th. Kim Min-kyu, who won the previous day’s PGA Tour Descent Korea Match Play, jumped from 505th to 414th.
