"Accept the Parties' Negotiation Proposal"
The government recently expressed its support for the 'three-stage ceasefire negotiation plan' related to the Israel-Hamas conflict announced by U.S. President Joe Biden.
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in the name of its spokesperson, saying, "The government highly appreciates the diplomatic efforts made by the relevant countries to prepare this negotiation plan," and emphasized, "We urge all parties to immediately accept the negotiation plan and faithfully implement it."
President Biden announced on the 31st of last month that Israel had newly proposed a three-stage ceasefire plan, which was conveyed to Hamas through Qatar. Hamas also expressed a welcoming stance toward the idea presented by President Biden.
According to the ceasefire plan, in the first stage, the Israeli military will withdraw from all densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip, and in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, some hostages including women, elderly, and injured will be released.
In the second stage, all surviving hostages will be exchanged, and the Israeli military will withdraw from the entire Gaza Strip. In the third stage, reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and the return of the bodies of deceased hostages will take place.
