Dongdaemun-gu Holds Veterans Sharing Event in Commemoration of the Month of Patriots and Veterans

District Mayor Ilhyung Lee Emphasizes "We Must Never Forget the Sacrifice and Dedication of Our National Heroes"

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) held a 'Veterans Sharing Event' at the Dongdaemun-gu Veterans Hall on the 3rd.

This event was organized to honor the heroes who dedicated themselves to the nation in celebration of the June Month of Patriots and Veterans, with 110 national veterans residing in the area attending.

The district expresses respect and gratitude to national merit recipients by providing ▲monthly veterans' honor allowances ▲consolation money (during Lunar New Year, Chuseok, and the Month of Patriots and Veterans) ▲death condolence payments ▲support for veterans organizations' operating expenses ▲funding for pilgrimage to historic battle sites. Additionally, in April, the old heating and cooling system at the Dongdaemun-gu Veterans Hall was replaced.

The national veterans who visited the event enjoyed delicious meals and had a pleasant time sharing stories together.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, listened to the difficulties faced by veterans organizations and comforted the heads of the groups, stating, "We live freely today thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of our patriotic heroes," and emphasized, "Not only during the Month of Patriots and Veterans but always, we must remember and respect the lives of those who devoted themselves to the nation."
