For Eco-Friendly Parts Repair and Enhancing Customer Convenience
Samsung Electronics Service announced on the 3rd that it will expand display-only repairs for foldable smartphones, enhancing service convenience for Galaxy users.

Display-only repair is an eco-friendly repair method that disassembles the display parts, bezel, case, etc., and replaces only the necessary components. By maintaining as many usable parts as possible and minimizing part replacements, it effectively reduces electronic waste (e-Waste) emissions. Device users can also reduce repair costs.
As smartphone functions advanced and displays grew larger, Samsung Electronics Service was the first in the industry to introduce smartphone display-only repairs in 2019. Starting from the 3rd, the number of service centers offering display-only repairs for the latest foldable smartphones, Galaxy Z Flip and Fold5, will increase nationwide from 13 to 32.
When repairing the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold5 displays as individual parts, the repair time increases by about an hour, but repair costs can be saved by up to 36%. For the Galaxy Z Flip5, replacing the entire integrated part costs 378,000 KRW, whereas display-only repair costs 242,000 KRW.
