'Remember Our Land', Dongmyung University Department of Military Studies Visits Dokdo

Hosted by the Korea Freedom Federation... 'Dokdo Honorary Resident Certificate' Given to Participants

The Department of Military Science at Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) announced on the 3rd that it participated in the '2024 Dokdo Defense Exploration with the Young Generation - The Dokdo We Love, Remember Our Land' event for three days starting from the 29th of last month.

This event, organized by the Busan Chapter of the Korea Freedom Federation (Chairman Shin Hanchun), was attended by federation members, officials from Busan City, the Office of Education, the Police Agency, media representatives, national patriots, students representing the young generation from four universities (Tongmyong University, Busan University of Foreign Studies, Dong-A University, Silla University), and international students, all of whom served as supporters promoting the value of freedom.

Before landing on Dokdo, participants held team-based roundtable meetings on the necessity of defending Dokdo, recited a Dokdo defense resolution, chanted 'manse' three times, and performed various activities to express their commitment to defending Dokdo. In commemoration of the event, attendees are scheduled to receive an 'Honorary Resident Certificate of Dokdo.'

Student An Ji-won (Tongmyong University, Department of Military Science, 4th year) shared, "I succeeded in visiting Dokdo for the first time, a feat said to be possible only if three generations accumulate virtue. I will become an outstanding officer who will surely protect our land, Dokdo, and defend our nation."

Professor Jeong Dong expressed, "I am grateful to the Busan Chapter of the Korea Freedom Federation for giving so many students the opportunity to participate," and added, "I felt great pride in the students' proactive attitudes, logical organization, and presentations shown during the roundtable meetings and on-site."

Na Seunghak, Head of the Department of Military Science, stated, "With various activities supported by the Busan Chapter of the Korea Freedom Federation, such as the 6.25 UN Fallen Soldiers Memorial Ceremony and the DMZ Peace Trail Expedition, and our department's unique strategies, we will develop into the nation's top Department of Military Science."
