Entertainment business owners and printing shop owners who distributed illegal flyers in the Gangnam-gu area of Seoul were consecutively arrested by the police.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 4th that four employees of entertainment establishments who distributed illegal flyers and entertainment business owner Mr. A were arrested on charges of violating the Juvenile Protection Act and the Act on the Regulation of Conducting Entertainment Business, respectively. Printing shop owner Mr. B, who produced the illegal flyers, was also arrested on charges of violating the Outdoor Advertising Act.

The group is suspected of riding motorcycles during the evening hours and distributing a large number of flyers around the food alley near Gangnam Station and nearby schools. The flyers contained provocative promotional phrases about a new type of entertainment establishment called 'Shirts Room.'

On the evening of the 17th of last month, around 10 p.m., the police arrested two entertainment establishment employees on the spot near Gangnam Station for distributing flyers and confiscated their motorcycles. Subsequently, the police expanded the crackdown to the entertainment establishments mentioned on the flyers and additionally arrested two habitual flyer distributors and owner Mr. A.

Police investigations confirmed that they had commissioned the production of the flyers at a printing shop in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. The police arrested printing shop owner Mr. B and obtained a search warrant for the printing shop to secure related evidence.

A representative of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, "We have been conducting intensive crackdowns from the 6th of last month to the 30th of this month to eradicate illegal flyers that damage basic order and urban aesthetics," adding, "We plan to actively crack down on illegal flyers in areas other than Gangnam as well."
