Lotte Hi-Mart Offers Paid 'Same-Day Installation' Service for Orders Placed Before 1 PM

Usage Fee 70,000 Won, Implemented First in the Seoul Metropolitan Area

Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 2nd that it will launch a paid service called 'Same-Day Installation,' which installs refrigerators, kimchi refrigerators, and TVs on the day of purchase. This service completes installation on the same day of payment for orders placed by 1 PM. The fee is 70,000 KRW, making it the only service in Korea that completes same-day installation for appliances requiring installation.

The service will initially be implemented in Seoul and the metropolitan area. Customers can apply through offline stores in the area and the 'Same-Day Installation Specialty Section' on the online shopping mall.

Before launching the service, Lotte Hi-Mart conducted a pilot operation targeting 19 large and small-to-medium-sized home appliance items. They found that urgent installation demand for refrigerators, kimchi refrigerators, and TVs accounted for about 80% of the total, and demand from Seoul and the metropolitan area made up 60% of the total.

In particular, refrigerators and kimchi refrigerators had high demand because, unlike other large appliances, failure or damage without prompt action could lead to food spoilage and disposal.

Seo Gang-woo, head of Lotte Hi-Mart's SCM division, said, "Domestic appliance companies generally deliver the day after purchase, so there was a gap in satisfying customers who urgently needed installation. Therefore, we prepared the same-day installation service and will monitor customer responses to gradually expand the items and regions in the future."
