The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. when a water pipe burst during a city gas construction, causing water outages for 2,500 households.
The district maintained a rapid response system to prepare for emergencies such as water outages and water quality incidents, and sent disaster alert messages to residents in the area to inform them of the situation. Additionally, efforts were made to reduce residents' inconvenience by distributing drinking water at locations such as the Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center and deploying water trucks to the affected areas.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee visited the accident site to check the restoration progress, discussed the cause of the accident and follow-up measures with officials, and strongly ordered, "Please carry out the restoration work quickly and perfectly to minimize residents' inconvenience, and establish a thorough response system to prevent recurrence."
