On the 30th, former Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, Han Dong-hoon, met with singer Kim Heung-guk to express his gratitude for Kim's support campaign during the general election period. Kim conveyed that Chairman Han seemed to be "worrying a lot about the country while resting and appeared to have given much thought to how he should proceed."
On the 31st, Kim appeared on a TV Chosun YouTube channel to share anecdotes from the dinner with former Chairman Han. The meeting was arranged after Han personally called Kim, and they spent about two hours dining together at a traditional Korean restaurant in Jongno. During the meal, they discussed various topics ranging from events during the general election, the production of a documentary film related to the late Lady Yuk Young-soo, to their life experiences. However, it was reported that there was no specific political discussion such as Han’s candidacy for the party convention.
Kim introduced, "Former Chairman Han said, 'I am someone who speaks my mind and knows how to fight. If I make up my mind that I must do something honestly for the country and the people, I will definitely do it. Also, since nothing comes easily, if necessary, I am prepared to dedicate myself for the country.'" Regarding the atmosphere of the conversation, Kim said that Han introduced himself as a ‘baeksu’ (unemployed person) to create a comfortable environment but also added, "Even though he is somewhat slight in build, I definitely felt that he is not someone to be underestimated."
Regarding politics, Kim conveyed that Han seemed to have some concerns and slight regrets about the division among conservative right-wing politicians after the general election.
