"Supporting Enhanced Accountability and Efficient Board of Directors Performance"

NXC, Nexon Holding Company, Appoints Late Kim Jung-ju's Wife Yoo Jung-hyun as Board Chairperson

Yoo Jung-hyun, the wife of the late Nexon founder Kim Jung-ju, has been appointed as the chairperson of the board of directors at NXC.

NXC announced on the 31st that Yoo Jung-hyun was appointed as the new chairperson of the board through a board resolution on February 29.

Regarding Yoo's appointment as chairperson, NXC explained that it was "to enhance the board's accountability and support the efficient execution of the board's roles."

With Yoo's appointment as the new chairperson, Lee Jae-kyo, the former chairperson and CEO of NXC, will oversee the management of the holding company.

Yoo Jung-hyun co-founded Nexon in 1994 with her husband Kim Jung-ju, and has served as head of the management support division, CEO of Nexon Networks, and director of both Nexon and NXC.

In 2010, she stepped down from her position as director at NXC, and since then has been involved in the board only as an auditor and the second-largest shareholder.

However, after Kim Jung-ju passed away in the United States in February 2022, Yoo was designated as the head of the Nexon Group by the Fair Trade Commission in April of the same year, and in August, she inherited 132,890 shares from her husband, becoming the largest shareholder of NXC.

At the beginning of last year, she was appointed as an inside director at the regular shareholders' meeting, participating in key board decisions.
