Goryeong-gun Achieves Tangible Results with 'Experience Living in Rural Areas' Program

Two Graduates from the Second Term and Others Return to Rural Life and Farming in Goryeong County

Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol), has successfully completed the "2nd Rural Living Experience Program."

This program has been operated in three sessions over one month since the 1st of last month at No2-ri Village (Saengbiwon), targeting urban residents from cities such as Seoul and Busan who wish to return to farming or relocate to rural areas.

On the 30th, the second group of participants completed their one-month program, and from the 3rd of next month, the third group, consisting of five households and seven people, will be welcomed.

One participant said, "I entered the Goryeong County one-month living experience with both excitement and concern," and added, "Through various programs such as farming experiences, exploring Goryeong County, and visiting leading farms, I was able to form valuable relationships and gain many memories and experiences."

Of the six participants in the second group, two have decided to settle in Goryeong County and will become residents. According to a county official, two of the seven participants in the first group also expressed their intention to return to farming, achieving the program's goal of providing opportunities for talented individuals to settle and contribute to Goryeong County.

Lee Namcheol, Governor of Goryeong County, said, "I hope this Rural Living Experience Program has provided a successful opportunity for settlement in Goryeong County," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that many people returning from urban life can settle in Goryeong County in a stable manner."
