On the 30th, a post titled "They are asking for a refund because an eyelash came out" was uploaded on an online community. The author, Mr. A, who identified himself as a self-employed person running a rice bowl restaurant, began by saying, "The customer is claiming that an eyelash came out of the food and is demanding a refund."

Mr. A explained the situation, saying, "If an eyelash did come out, it is regrettable, but the order was placed at 5 p.m., and the refund request was made through a delivery application (app) review at 1 a.m.," adding, "I know the nickname because they applied for the review event, but they are demanding a refund while even changing their nickname." The customer demanded a refund 8 hours after the order, claiming foreign substances were found in the food, and did not contact the store directly but only expressed dissatisfaction through the app.

Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "Ask for photo evidence and say you will contact the insurance company," "DNA testing is impossible," "It’s sad that these kinds of incidents are frequent," "You shouldn’t just comply with everything they say," "They probably said eyelash instead of hair because of color or curl," "It looks like someone just wants to eat for free," and "There are all kinds of people."

■ How to respond when foreign substances are found in food
1. Take photos of the food with the foreign substance and the foreign substance itself.
- Record the situation at the time the foreign substance was found for accurate investigation of the cause.
2. Store the foreign substance carefully in a zipper bag or airtight container.
- Keep the foreign substance safe from loss or damage until it is submitted to the investigation agency.
3. Report to the business or 1399.
- Submit the found foreign substance to the investigation agency for smooth cause investigation.
- The investigation agency (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, local government) will conduct the investigation and notify the results directly.
4. False reporting of foreign substance discovery may result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won.
