Governor Park Wansu of Gyeongnam Province made this statement at the National Space Committee on the 30th, the day of the opening ceremony for the Sacheon Korea Aerospace Administration.
He also said, "I would like to express my gratitude, on behalf of the 3.3 million residents of Gyeongnam, to President Yoon Suk Yeol and the members of the National Assembly who worked hard from the enactment of the Special Act on the Korea Aerospace Administration to its opening."

Prior to the National Space Committee, which is chaired by the President, Governor Park, together with President Yoon Suk Yeol, Minister Lee Jongho of Science and ICT, Commissioner Yoon Youngbin of the Korea Aerospace Administration, Mayor Park Dongsik of Sacheon, local students, and representatives of residents, unveiled the signboard of the Korea Aerospace Administration and celebrated its opening.
On this day, Gyeongnam Province announced that it had proposed policies to the Presidential Office for the creation of a space-aerospace complex city, the development of leading technologies for global advanced air mobility (AAM), and the expansion of Sacheon Airport facilities to foster the space-aerospace industry ecosystem.
According to Gyeongnam Province, Governor Park has visited the National Assembly and government to seek cooperation for the passage of the Special Act on the Establishment and Operation of the Korea Aerospace Administration, and even held solo protests urging the passage of the special act.
He also made various preparations and efforts for the establishment and opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration, such as visiting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States and the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) to establish cooperative relationships.

The province is providing settlement support, such as up to 30 million KRW in settlement grants for families of four and improvements to transportation infrastructure, to help Korea Aerospace Administration employees settle in the region.
In addition, the province is promoting the creation of a space-aerospace complex city centered around the Korea Aerospace Administration, integrating industry, research, education, culture, and tourism.
