Yesu Hospital Launches 'Jeonju Regional Responsibility Medical Institution'

Inauguration Ceremony on the 30th... Solving Essential Medical Issues in the Region

Jeonju City, Gimje City, Wanju County, Jinan County, and Muju County in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province have launched the Jeonju Regional Responsibility Medical Institution, which will take the lead in emergency medical care, high-risk treatment for mothers and newborns, and infectious disease response in the region.

According to the Jeonju Public Health Center (Director Kim Sin-seon) on the 30th, the inauguration ceremony for Yesu Hospital as the Jeonju Regional Responsibility Medical Institution was held at the Jeonju Grand Hilton Hotel. Following the commemorative ceremony, hospital staff and related personnel spent time communicating together. Attendees expressed their support and high expectations for the future of Yesu Hospital, newly launched as the regional responsibility medical institution.

The regional responsibility medical institution system was designated and operated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare since 2019 to solve essential medical issues in local communities and establish a public health medical system.

With the designation of Yesu Hospital as the Jeonju Regional Responsibility Medical Institution, it will play a central role in various fields such as emergency medical care, high-risk treatment, and infectious disease response within the Jeonju region, including Jeonju City. It will form consultative bodies with the local community to minimize medical blind spots. Various cooperative systems will also be established to help patients smoothly return to the community.

Woo Beom-gi, Mayor of Jeonju, said, "Along with the recently opened pediatric specialized emergency medical center, we have high expectations for the role of Yesu Hospital as the regional responsibility medical institution." He added, "We are grateful for the dedication of Yesu Hospital, which inherits the spirit of the founding missionary Marti Ingold, who devoted himself to the underprivileged, and we wish for much development."
