On the 30th, Jo Young-ho visited the water facility repair and maintenance project sites at Dorong District in Suncheon and Imcheon District in Gangjin consecutively. He checked the reinstallation of reservoir discharge facilities, the operation status of pumping stations, and urged on-site staff to take proactive measures against risk factors to prevent damage from heavy rainfall, emphasizing thorough prior preparation.

The Jeonnam Headquarters is conducting intensive safety inspections throughout May on 1,279 locations including reservoirs and pumping stations managed by the headquarters to prepare in advance for disasters such as summer typhoons and heavy rains, focusing on eliminating risk factors.

Additionally, all branches within the Jeonnam region have been conducting company-wide emergency response drills since April, simulating emergency repairs assuming situations such as reservoir slope erosion to prepare for natural disaster crises like typhoons.

Jo Young-ho, head of the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, stated, “As abnormal climate phenomena have been occurring frequently in recent years, more meticulous and systematic inspections and preparations are necessary,” adding, “We will make every effort to ensure thorough prior preparation to respond to all possible disasters that may occur in the region during the upcoming rainy season.”
