Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced that it signed a friendship agreement with Wonju City, Gangwon Province, at Wonju City Hall on the 30th. According to this agreement, the two cities plan to engage in mutual exchange and cooperation in various fields such as economy, tourism, and education.
Wonju, the largest city in Gangwon Province with a population of 360,000, is the only city in Korea to simultaneously host both an enterprise city and an innovation city, making it an economic city with the greatest growth potential. Major tourist attractions in Wonju, such as Sogeumsan Grand Valley, Oak Valley, and Museum SAN, are located about two hours away from Gangnam.
District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, "I hope that 'New Change, Great Happiness, Greater Wonju' and 'A City Where Dreams Gather, Gangnam-gu Drawing the Future' will unite in purpose to achieve mutual growth through close cooperation in various fields, and further lead the development of the Republic of Korea."
