Daegu Safety and Health Forum Launch Ceremony

The Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office (Director Kim Kyuseok) and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Daegu Regional Headquarters (Director Oh Kyuhun) held the inauguration ceremony of the Daegu Regional Safety and Health Forum on the 30th at Laonzena Hotel in Suseong-gu, Daegu.

The event, held to commemorate the launch of the 'Daegu Regional Safety and Health Forum,' was attended by Kim Kyuseok, Director of the Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office, Oh Kyuhun, Director of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Daegu Headquarters, as well as representatives from public institutions in Daegu, site managers, supervisors, safety and health managers, and members of private organizations, totaling around 140 participants.

Kyu-Seok Kim, Director of Daegu Employment and Labor Office, is delivering a greeting at the launch ceremony of the Daegu Regional Safety and Health Forum.

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency presented the operational direction of the regional safety and health forum, while two local companies, Air First Co., Ltd. and SL Co., Ltd., shared best practices in safety and health management. Following this, Director Kim Kyuseok and Director Oh Kyuhun listened to opinions on supervisor-centered safety and health management practices, discussed ways to revitalize on-site safety and health management, and facilitated communication and exchange between the public and private sectors.

The event concluded with a '3-3-3 Activity' safety workplace performance. This performance embodied the participants' commitment to creating safe workplaces by having the three main stakeholders (employers, supervisors, and workers) manage the three major types of accidents (falls, entrapment, and collisions) through a triple system (risk listing, role assignment, and verification).

Kim Kyuseok, Director of the Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office, urged, "For systematic supervisor-centered management to function properly on site, I hope that the management representative, who holds overall responsibility, will pay active attention and make efforts."

Oh Kyuhun, Director of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Daegu Regional Headquarters, stated, "We will work closely with the Daegu Office to provide the necessary information and support to workplaces in a timely manner."
