Keanu Reeves Look-Alike Sparks Attention

Keanu Reeves, who rose to global action star status by appearing in movies such as 'The Matrix' and 'John Wick.' A German man who astonishingly resembles him has skyrocketed to social media (SNS) stardom overnight.


On the 28th (local time), Hong Kong media South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported intensively, saying, "A German man who became a star in Thailand is gaining worldwide popularity."


The man SCMP focused on is Andreas, a German national currently residing in Thailand. He recently became a hot topic on the short-form streaming platform TikTok, due to his striking resemblance to Keanu Reeves.

Andreas engages in various experiential activities wearing loose cotton pants locally known as 'kokkiri baji' (elephant pants). He tries grilling squid on the street, rides a motorcycle through the streets, makes coffee at the market, does the dishes, and visits Bangkok wearing traditional Thai clothing.


The issue is that thanks to his uncanny resemblance to Keanu Reeves, whatever he does feels like a movie shooting scene. TikTok videos capturing his daily life quickly spread worldwide, making him a star overnight. One video featuring him recorded 6 million views in just one day.


Some netizens even mistook him for the real Keanu Reeves. Comments such as "Looks like the new John Wick series is being filmed in Thailand," and "Could he be Keanu Reeves' stunt double?" were posted. Additionally, netizens expressed amazement with remarks like "He looks like John Wick from a parallel universe," and "Apparently, doppelgangers really exist."


In an interview with local media, Andreas said, "My wife dressed me up for a carnival event," adding, "To look more like John Wick, I dyed my blonde hair and mustache black."


He added, "This is not the first time I have been mistaken for Keanu Reeves," and "Even in Germany, I was invited to several events because of my resemblance to him."
