Israel National Security Advisor: "Will Last at Least 7 Months"
The war between Israel and Hamas, which has lasted for nearly eight months, is not expected to end within this year.
On the 29th (local time), Tzachi Hanegbi, Israel's National Security Advisor, stated in an interview with a media outlet, "The battle in the Gaza Strip will continue throughout 2024," and predicted, "It will last at least more than seven months."
He added, "The Israeli forces attacking Rafah in the Gaza Strip have secured 70% of the 'Philadelphi Corridor,' a buffer zone along the Israel-Egypt border," emphasizing, "Together with Egypt, we must prevent weapons from being smuggled from Egypt into the Gaza Strip."
The war, which began on October 7 last year with a surprise attack by Hamas militants on southern Israel, marked its 236th day on this day.
