The Chungnam Family Center officially opened on the 29th, marking the start of full-scale support for family policy.
The center will oversee 15 city and county family centers within the province and establish Chungnam-style family policies. It has also integrated the Healthy Family Centers and Multicultural Centers previously located in cities and counties into city and county family centers, enhancing organizational efficiency and expertise.
To ensure happiness for various family types such as single-person households, low-income single-parent families, and foreign families, the center plans to develop Chungnam-style family services and implement effective family policies.
The center will be operated by Sunmoon University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation until December 2026.
At the opening ceremony, Governor Kim Tae-heum expressed gratitude, saying, "Until now, family-related tasks were managed separately, resulting in a lack of systematic support. However, after the Chungnam Provincial Council enacted an ordinance related to family centers last year, a metropolitan-level hub institution has opened today."
He added, "Family policies in Chungnam will undergo significant changes centered around the family center," emphasizing, "The Chungnam Family Center will work together with city and county centers to carry out more effective and integrated family policies."
