Anseong-si Holds Appointment Ceremony for Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee

On the 28th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that it had formed the 'Anseong City 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee' to implement a carbon-neutral society and promote green growth, and held an appointment ceremony and meeting.

The committee consists of a total of 20 members. Co-chair Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong, six ex officio members who are city officials at the director level or higher, and 13 appointed members including experts and citizens from various fields were selected through an open recruitment process.


At the appointment ceremony, Lee Sang-young, the standing chairman of the Anseong City Sustainable Development Council, was elected as co-chair, and the current status of Anseong City's carbon neutrality efforts was discussed.


The Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee deliberates and resolves matters including ▲the basic policy direction for transitioning to a carbon-neutral society and promoting green growth ▲setting Anseong City's carbon neutrality vision and reduction targets ▲establishment, modification, and implementation of the basic carbon neutrality plan ▲inspection results of the progress of the carbon neutrality basic plan ▲ordinances and administrative plans related to the transition to a carbon-neutral society and green growth ▲and the establishment, implementation, and progress inspection of climate crisis adaptation measures.


Mayor Kim said, "I hope that through the committee, the policy direction for Anseong City will be set, monitoring of progress will be actively conducted, and proposals for citizen participation measures will be actively made."
