Wando Police Station Collaborates with Child Protection Agency for Month-Long Initiative in June
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 29th that it will conduct inspections throughout June targeting high-risk children for abuse in collaboration with Wando Police Station and the Southern Jeonnam Child Protection Agency.
This inspection will focus on households with children who have a history of investigation or repeated reports, or families that have been uncooperative or have refused case management by child protection agencies, indicating a high risk of abuse.
In particular, there are plans to directly meet with the children to check their physical and psychological condition, child-rearing status, and living environment.
If any risk of abuse is found during the inspection or if the child requires protection, immediate measures such as separation on-site or linking to investigations will be taken.
If necessary, an integrated case meeting will be held to establish a protection system to prevent secondary damage and provide various services for the child's safety.
A county official stated, “We will continue to do our best to create an environment where children can grow up safely through early detection of abused children and prompt protective measures by organic cooperation between the public, private sectors, and the police.”
Meanwhile, the county uses a total of 44 types of information, including power outages, water outages, missed health checkups, long-term absences, non-application for child allowances, and no hospital visits, to proactively identify at-risk children and households suspected of exposure to abuse on a quarterly basis and connect and provide necessary welfare services.
