Dongmyung University Wins Gold in Women's Poomsae at National Taekwondo Championships Hosted by University Presidents of Dongmyung and Keimyung

Freshman Kim Hyewon Also Earns Spot in National Team Trials

Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) announced on the 28th that it won a gold medal at the "23rd Keimyung University President's National Taekwondo Competition" held at Yeongju National Sports Center on the 26th.

Kim Hyewon, a first-year student in the K-sports Taekwondo Department at the university, achieved an emotional victory in the women's poomsae category, earning a ticket to compete in the "2024 National Team Selection Competition." In addition, the pair of Kwon Doyoung and Kim Hyewon finished second in the mixed doubles event.

Won Hyeongjin, head of the K-sports Taekwondo Department, said, "The Taekwondo Department practices education in body, virtue, and knowledge, contributing to the expansion of Taekwondo in the local community and participating in overseas volunteer activities." He added, "I congratulate the students on their achievements and hope they grow into healthy members of society with the spirit of Taekwondo."

The Taekwondo Department of Dongmyung University is participating in the Keimyung University President's Cup Taekwondo Competition.
