Kim Kyung-ho, the mayor of Gwangjin District, gathered with employees on the morning of the 28th to commemorate the 8th anniversary of the screen door accident at Guui Station on Subway Line 2 and to pay tribute to Kim.
They laid flowers at section 9-4 of the Guui Station platform and remembered Kim's sacrifice.
Mayor Kim stated, "Such a tragedy must never happen again. We will do our best to create a safe working environment so that Kim's sacrifice is not in vain," and left a memorial message saying, "We will always work to create a safe world."
