At the meeting, six heads of agricultural organizations attended, including Hong Young-shin, President of the Korea Successor Farmers Management Association Jeonnam Federation; Choi Won-seop, President of the Korea Rural Leaders Jeonnam Federation; Kim Hyang-sook, President of the Korea Women Farmers Jeonnam Federation; Park Young-hee, President of the Korea Life Improvement Jeonnam Federation; Shin Jeong-ok, President of the Korea Rice Farmers Jeonnam Federation; and Lim Dong-seong, Vice Chairman of the National Peasants Federation Gwangju Jeonnam Federation.
During the meeting, participants shared opinions on topics such as ▲ the current status of the Farmland Bank project and services to facilitate convenience for farmers ▲ the promotion of agricultural production infrastructure projects to respond to climate change ▲ stable supply of agricultural water and reservoir management plans to prepare for disasters.
The heads of agricultural organizations conveyed a common opinion that in order to turn the crises faced by rural areas, such as aging and climate crisis, into opportunities, the corporation’s leading role closest to the agricultural field and the Jeonnam Headquarters, which represents the main agricultural region, should take the lead in institutional efforts for agricultural development and demonstrate tangible results.
Head Jo Young-ho stated, “We take the difficulties faced by agriculture seriously and will make our best efforts to overcome the crises facing agriculture and rural areas and lay the foundation for growth based on today’s valuable opinions,” adding, “We will continue to frequently hold close communication sessions so that field opinions can be reflected in policies.”
