Lotte Hotel & Resort Appoints Soccer Player 'Hwang Hee-chan' as Global Ambassador

Active Sports Marketing Following Table Tennis Star Shin Yubin

Hwang Hee-chan, a national soccer player who is making a strong impact at Wolverhampton in the English Premier League (PL), has been appointed as a brand ambassador for Lotte Hotel & Resort.

On the 28th, Lotte Hotel & Resort announced Hwang Hee-chan as their new brand ambassador at an appointment ceremony held at Signiel Seoul.

Hwang Hee-chan is recognized for having a successful season, setting a career high with 13 goals and 3 assists since joining the PL this season. From the early part of the season, Hwang showed top form, reaching 20 goals in the PL overall, surpassing Park Ji-sung's 19 goals and ranking second among Korean Premier League players in all-time scoring, behind Son Heung-min.

Following CEO Kim Tae-hong's New Year's address emphasizing brand competitiveness earlier this year, Lotte Hotel & Resort has strengthened its sports marketing by recruiting Hwang Hee-chan as a brand ambassador, following table tennis national representative Shin Yu-bin. Especially with the appointment of Hwang Hee-chan, a European soccer star at the peak of his abilities, the company has laid the groundwork to enhance brand awareness in Asia, where soccer is passionate, as well as in Europe, a region where it has not yet expanded.

At the appointment ceremony, CEO Kim said, “Hwang Hee-chan’s growth story, steadily climbing each stage to become a world-class player, closely resembles the history of Lotte Hotel & Resort,” and added, “We plan to actively promote Lotte Hotel & Resort worldwide through synergy with the ‘Korean Guy’ Hwang Hee-chan.”
