"From the 29th, Financial and Telecom Debts Can Be Checked at Once"

Credit Information Service Enables Batch Inquiry via 'CreditForYou'

"From the 29th, Financial and Telecom Debts Can Be Checked at Once"

It is now possible to check both financial debts and telecommunications debts at once, which previously had to be checked separately on the websites of the Credit Information Center and the Korea Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT).

On the 28th, the Financial Supervisory Service announced that starting from the 29th, it will launch the 'Integrated Financial and Telecommunications Debt Inquiry Service,' allowing users to check financial and telecommunications debt information with a single login.

Although the Credit Information Center's 'CreditForYou' provides links and pop-ups to KAIT's 'Telecommunications Debt Inquiry Service,' users had to move to the other website and undergo identity verification again, causing inconvenience.

The Financial Supervisory Service improved the system so that telecommunications debts can be checked directly from the Credit Information Center's 'CreditForYou.' Consumers can now view telecommunications debt information immediately on 'CreditForYou' by simply consenting, without having to move to KAIT's telecommunications debt inquiry website or go through additional identity verification procedures. Currently, a history of timely telecommunications bill payments is reflected as a positive factor in individual credit scores.

The Financial Supervisory Service stated, "As personal credit evaluation models using telecommunications information are increasingly utilized in financial transactions, the use of telecommunications information in the financial sector is expected to grow, and supporting telecommunications debt management is anticipated to have a positive impact on future financial transactions."
