Uljin County Mobilizes All Efforts to Protect Residents from Disasters and Calamities On the 27th, Uljin County held a meeting at the Uljin County Disaster Comprehensive Situation Room to review preparations for summer flood and wind damage.

This meeting was presided over by Deputy Governor Park Saeeun, with officials from relevant departments of the county office and related organizations (Uljin Fire Station, Uljin Police Station, 15th Coastal Surveillance Mobile Unit of the 5312nd Unit, Pohang National Land Management Office Uljin Branch, Korea Electric Power Corporation Uljin Branch, etc.) in attendance.

During the meeting, participants observed a video conference led by the governor of North Gyeongsang Province, and discussed preemptive preparation measures and future response plans for summer storm and flood disasters by each department and related organization.

In addition, discussions were held on ways to enhance mutual cooperation with related organizations in the event of a disaster situation.

Deputy Governor Park Saeeun stated, "Due to climate change caused by global warming, responding to natural disasters has become increasingly challenging. I ask that each department and related organization establish a close cooperative system by designating responsible officials for each at-risk village and do their utmost in advance preparations to minimize casualties."

Uljin County is making every effort in preemptive inspections and measures so that residents can live safely from disasters and calamities.

To prepare for flood damage caused by river overflow during the rainy season, dredging projects have been carried out throughout Uljin County, and thorough safety inspections are being conducted for disaster-vulnerable households, various workplaces, and tourist safety management.

Starting this year, the coverage of the residents' safety insurance has been expanded, allowing for benefits up to a maximum of 30 million KRW.
