Predicting Current Appearance of Long-Term Missing Children Using Generative AI
Professor Hong Yujin of the Department of Electronic Engineering at Hoseo University received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare at the 18th Missing Children’s Day ceremony.
Since 2013, Professor Hong has participated in projects involving 3D composite sketch face generation technology, age transformation research, and the development of complex cognitive technologies for identity verification of missing children.
Recently, in collaboration with KIST, she has advanced existing age transformation technology using generative AI, predicting the current appearance of long-term missing children and providing results to the Child Rights Protection Agency and media outlets.
In particular, she laid the foundation for new age transformation technologies by developing robust face recognition technology against age changes for identifying long-term missing children and researching personalized age transformation technology based on parents’ genetic information.
Professor Hong Yujin stated, “I will strive to develop technologies that can further improve the prediction accuracy of age transformation so that long-term missing children can return to their families as soon as possible.”
