Icheon-si Raises Local Currency Discount Rate from 6% to 7% for 3 Months

16.3% Discount Effect When Paying at Local Food Direct Stores During the 'Tongkeun Sale' Period

On the 28th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will temporarily increase the discount rate of the 'Icheon Love Local Currency' from 6% to 7% in celebration of the 'Gyeonggi Revival Big Sale' event.

The Gyeonggi Revival Big Sale is a discount event held for one month from the 17th of last month to the 16th of next month in collaboration with over 150 traditional markets in the province to support small business owners struggling due to reduced consumption. During this period, agricultural products can be purchased at a 10% discounted price at 88 local food direct stores within Gyeonggi Province.

This increase in the local currency discount rate is implemented by the city in connection with the Big Sale event to revitalize the local commercial district. The increased discount rate will be applied for three months from June to the end of August. During the event period, if payment is made with local currency at local food direct stores, products can be purchased at a 16.3% discounted price.

Following this increase in the discount rate, the city plans to offer a special 10% discount on local currency in late September to celebrate the Chuseok holiday.
