LG Uplus Kids-Only Platform 'Idulnara'
Smart TV Viewing Available with Premium Subscription
LG Uplus announced on the 28th that it has launched a smart TV-exclusive app for its kids-only platform 'Idulnara'. Idulnara is a kids-only service that offers over 60,000 pieces of content for various purposes such as reading, learning, and playing.
LG Uplus plans to expand its service provision beyond the existing mobile app and its IPTV service 'U+tv' to smart TVs, realizing a multi-platform strategy. Customers who own smart TVs can use the service on their TV screens regardless of their telecom provider.
The smart TV-exclusive Idulnara app offers approximately 3,600 pieces of content, including books, learning materials, and animations.
To use Idulnara on a smart TV, users need to subscribe to the premium package through the mobile Idulnara app or website, then download the app from the smart TV home screen. Premium package users can access the service on smart TVs without any additional cost.
The smart TVs compatible with the service are LG Electronics' webOS 5.0 or higher and Samsung Electronics' Tizen 5.0 or higher. In the future, LG Uplus plans to expand the service to cover all smart TVs.
LG Uplus also intends to broaden the service scope to allow offline use of Idulnara. Additionally, the company plans to enhance the service using its artificial intelligence (AI) technology, ixi.
Kim Dae-ho, Idulnara CO at LG Uplus, said, "We launched the smart TV-exclusive app reflecting customers' requests to use the service on large TV screens beyond mobile screens. We will continue to strive for customer experience innovation by advancing the service using ixi-based AI."
